If you buy it, you get to leave it like this forever, reveal a section at a time or go for it all in one sitting. The shell should survive transportation but there is no guarantee. It is possible that it will reveal itself to you when you open the box.

May be used to hold dry materials if desired. It is not water-tight (will absorb water). To clean, dust with a clean, dry cloth. I will send along some wax to polish it with instructions.
